Potential Strike Action at Port of Felixstowe - Dates confirmed

Eight days of strike action have been planned starting on Sunday 21 August and ending on Monday 29 August.

Members of the Unite union voted in an overwhelming majority for industrial action, following a pay dispute with the Felixstowe Dock and Railway Company. Talks at Acas have failed to reach a satisfactory conclusion between both parties, however negotiations are ongoing.

The Port of Felixstowe is the UK’s busiest port and any industrial action is likely to cause considerable disruption to port operations and have a knock-on effect on supply chains and all port users. Stakeholders will be implementing appropriate contingency plans in order to minimise disruption, however details of these plans have yet to be confirmed.

Mannson Freight are closely monitoring the situation and will advise our customers with any developments with the planned strike action. If you have any questions, please contact a member of the Mannson team and they will be happy to assist any way they can.
